Funds from the Tiganokinisi programme were used to purchase flower pots, soil and plants for paved areas, as well as trees and shrubs for the school playground and surrounding yard, along with plant supports and an irrigation system for controlled watering.
Initially, the school identified areas where greenery could be developed. The school then contacted the Forestry Department for guidance on suitable plant species for each location. Afterwards, plants, soil, flower pots and plant supports were purchased. The Peyia Municipality team assisted with excavation work using special machinery. The children, guided by teachers and members of the Parents’ Association, planted the vegetation. Each class adopted a section of the school garden and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and caring for the plants. Finally, a drip irrigation system was installed to ensure proper and controlled watering. All these actions enriched the greenery and improved the children’s quality of life at school.
