Solar Oven

At Apeiteio Gymnasium of Agros, the funds from the Tiganokinisi programme were used to purchase a model solar oven.

The solar oven was used as an informal educational tool, helping students learn about solar radiation, the physical principles behind the operation of a solar oven, the different types of solar ovens, and its usefulness as an alternative cooking method using the sun as a renewable energy source.

The simultaneous demonstration and cooking of food during a school excursion was a pleasant and at the same time creative educational activity and learning method. It helped the students understand that there are smart alternative solutions for reducing energy consumption.
