Recycling and creation of a school garden

Apeiteio Gymnasium of Agros utilised funds from the Tiganokinisi program for the purchase of 8 metal PMD recycling bins and trees which were planted in the schoolyard.

Through the use of the program’s financial returns and the actions implemented, students’ environmental awareness, as well as that of the wider community, was strengthened. It is important for children to learn from an early age about recycling, its methods, and its benefits. In addition to the home, the school environment—where students spend a large part of their day—can also contribute significantly.

Similarly, the creation of a school garden is an alternative outdoor learning activity suitable for children. The establishment and care of the garden at school provides students with the opportunity to actively participate in the learning process, acquire knowledge and skills beyond the curriculum, and connect with nature.
