Greening my school, improving my life

Peyia Primary School utilised funds from the Tiganokinisi program for the purchase of trees, plants, vegetables, aromatic plants, flower beds, soil, and gardening tools (digging tools, pruning shears, garden sprayers, trowels, buckets, etc.).

The primary objective of the environmental action was to enrich the greenery of the school environment in a way that improves the school’s aesthetic appearance, the quality of life of the school community, and contributes to the sustainable development of the wider local community.

A key element of this environmental action was the involvement of students throughout the entire process. Their participation included, among other things, informing the wider community, collecting used cooking oil, selecting low-water plants, planting, and the daily care and maintenance of the school garden.
