This environmental initiative focused on making use of recycling collection programmes and preparing for the implementation of legislation requiring the separation of household waste at source, which is expected to be introduced in the following year. A total of **€788.71** was spent on the purchase of recycling bins and materials that support waste management practices within the school and the wider community.

The project began with an investigation into the problems caused by excessive waste production and its impact on residents’ quality of life. Through collaboration between the school, the Municipality of Peyia, and the Parents’ Association, the initiative aimed to cultivate positive attitudes towards recycling and responsible waste management.

This action supports the school’s sustainable environmental policy by promoting recycling, waste reduction, and reuse. It encourages respect for the natural environment, supports sustainable development, and helps develop environmental awareness among students.

To ensure the continuation of the programme, the school plans to place recycling bins in all classrooms, laboratories, and offices, implement waste separation practices, organise clean-up campaigns, and actively involve students in maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment.

Purchases made through the project included: * **14 paper recycling bins** * **1 recycling bin for the art laboratory** * **Additional round bins and litter collection tools** These bins are used for the sorting and collection of waste, with the support of the Municipality of Peyia for transporting recyclable materials to the local Green Point recycling facility.
