The Tiganokinisi Caravan took part in the 13th Red Clay Festival@kokkinospilos_kornosfestivalin Kornos!
More than 3,000 visitors came to Kornos this year for a celebration of pottery and the tradition of red clay.
The art of pottery carries something timeless and, at the same time, highly relevant within this ancient tradition: the use of local raw materials, knowledge passed down from generation to generation, and the creation of objects designed for real needs, for use and for durability. A whole relationship with the resources of the land, long before we started talking about sustainable production and responsible consumption.
And because tradition and sustainability go hand in hand, the Tiganokinisi Caravan was there to show how another everyday resource can be given a new life. Through scientific demonstrations, children and adults discovered how used cooking oil can be transformed into biodiesel.
🛢️ And of course, the Tiganokinisi collection barrel was there to collect used cooking oil.
The Tiganokinisi programme is implemented by AKTI Project and Research Centre in collaboration with the Unit for Education for the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. The Caravan is supported by @chevron.
