On 26 September, the Tiganokinisi Caravan was at Europe Square in Larnaca, where the first DesirMED Festival, “The Mediterranean We Desire”, was held to mark the Mediterranean Coast Day.
There, children and adults had the opportunity to learn more about Tiganokinisi and the collection and recycling of used cooking oil. Through hands-on activities, visitors discovered how waste can be given a new purpose as part of the circular economy.
The festival brought together citizens, local communities and organisations, with a focus on climate adaptation and Nature-based Solutions. Visitors had the opportunity to take part in interactive activities, discover initiatives from across the Mediterranean, and explore ways in which we can all contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future.
