Automatic irrigation system for the school vegetable garden

The 16th Primary School of Limassol used the funds from the Tiganokinisi programme to install an automatic irrigation system and purchase watering cans.

As part of the school's environmental policy, efforts were made to bring students closer to nature and local biodiversity, with the aim of fostering attitudes and behaviours that respect and protect the fragile ecosystems of Cyprus. As a result, the students created their own school vegetable garden. To support its operation and maintenance, an automatic irrigation system was installed using the funds generated through the Tiganokinisi programme. The students also planted young trees around the school's perimeter to make the grounds greener, while the watering cans were purchased to help them care for the newly planted trees.
