THE STORY
It all began in 2011 when the team at the Project and Research Centre, AKTI, designed and built the Tiganokinisi Caravan, which is our mobile educational and experimental unit for the programme. We traveled to schools across Cyprus, enhancing environmental awareness among students and citizens.
Due to a lack of funding, we had to stop our beloved caravan activities in 2017.
But we didn't give up! Five years later, in 2022, Chevron, the American energy company, recognized that the caravan could provide unique educational experiences. They decided to support this effort, and the caravan resumed its journey!
Since 2022, thanks to Chevron's funding, the caravan has traveled across Cyprus, visiting over 160 schools and educating more than 35,000 students. The caravan has also participated in over 10 festivals, reaching more than 15,000 people!

The Tiganokinisi Caravan is the flagship of our organization's educational activities. Our plans for the future are enormous! We continue to innovate, dream, and make those dreams a reality!
Avgi Procopiou and Andrea Tongidou, along with Giannis Loizides, are educators at the Tiganokinisi Caravan.
The caravan also provides opportunities/internships for individuals seeking to gain work experience.
The Tiganokinisi caravan visits over 60 schools across Cyprus each school year. Thousands of students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with all the experiments equipped on the caravan, which contribute to sustainability.

Every year, the Tiganokinisi caravan participates in various festivals and events, educating both children and adults about the recycling of harmful used cooking oil. And that's not all! The experiments cater to all ages, making our presence at festivals interactive!
